    Come play kickball and meet new friends! This is a great opportunity for individuals ages 18 and over with disabilities to learn new skills and have tons of fun playing kickball. Equipment will be provided. New to kickball - no problem! This class gives people with disabilities the opportunity to learn the basics of kickball. For those who can’t kick, we will offer a variety of ways to “kick” the ball – everyone is welcome! Please note in the registration if your athlete requires a buddy to help them throughout the game and/or if you are interested in volunteering. ** Indoor ADA restrooms are available. Caregivers are asked to stay if your family member may need assistance with personal care needs.

    Adult Private Tennis Lessons

    Elevate your tennis game with personalized, one-hour private lessons led by David Kahl, Stillwater’s Head Varsity Tennis Coach. Each lesson is completely customized to your game, focusing exclusively on the techniques and strategy needed to take your skills to the next level. One or more private lessons can be scheduled.   • Author Talk: Girls in a World at War

    Join Peggy Munro Scholberg as she shares her mother’s remarkable firsthand experiences serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, including her time stationed in France during the Battle of the Bulge. Through short readings from Girls in a World at War and a moving photo slideshow presentation, participants will step into a world shaped by courage, sacrifice, romance, tragedy, and hope. This engaging program brings history to life through personal stories and images that capture both the hardships and the humanity of wartime service. Light refreshments will be served. Autographed copies of the book will be available for purchase following the presentation. Peggy Munro Scholberg is honored to share her mother’s World War II story through the publication of Girls in a World at War. Peggy and her husband, Bill, live in Apple Valley, Minnesota, where they raised their two sons. Together, they retraced her parents’ travels throughout Europe and explored the history and locations connected to their wartime experiences. After a successful career as a pharmacy manager, Peggy is now enjoying retirement and the opportunity to bring her family’s remarkable story to audiences and readers. Like her mother, she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and trying new recipes, while also sharing her father’s lifelong love of sports.

    Based on Tim Burton’s dearly beloved film, Beetlejuice tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose whole life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and a demon with a thing for stripes. Entertainment Weekly calls it “A FEAST FOR THE EYES AND THE SOUL!” Seats are MF4, Rows O, P and Q and assigned at random within your party. You must arrange your own transportation to the Orpheum. The show will be at Como Park Pavilion and we will be taking a bus with the Community Bridge Program. 5:45 PM – Meet at Gladstone Community Education Center (1945 Manton St, Maplewood, MN 55109) 6:00 PM – Bus departs 6:30 PM – Arrive at Como Pavilion 7:00–9:15 PM – Performance (includes a 15-minute intermission) 10:00 PM – Return to Gladstone Because we have pre-purchased our seats for this show, we will not have extra seats for caregivers. This outing is intended for VFC members aged 21 and older who need light support. We look forward to enjoying a fun outing together!
