  • Babysitting 101

    This course is best suited for 10 to 13-year-olds interested in learning the current practices of caring for young children and how to manage their babysitting business. Students will learn safety and injury prevention, CPR, first aid basics, feeding and caring for infants and how to handle behavior problems. Students receive a reference book, handouts, babysitting bag and first aid kit.
  • Birthday Party at the PAC

    Bring your child and up to fourteen of his/her friends to celebrate their birthday at the Pony Activity Center (PAC). Birthday groups will have access to one gym for 1.5 hours with 30 minute reserved space for cake and refreshments. There will be staff on site to assist with set up/cleanup of equipment and answer any questions you may have during the party. Appropriate supervision of children (at least 2 adults) is required and must be present for the duration of the party. All food and refreshments are provided by the hosting birthday party group. Tables and chairs will be provided for food and refreshments. Latex balloons are not allowed for birthday parties due to allergies. Registration must be completed 14 days prior to party date. Cancellations must be made two weeks prior to the party to receive a refund minus the $5 cancellation fee. All children attending the birthday party will need a signed waiver turned in before the birthday party begins. PAC Birthday Parties are intended for children ages 4-12 years of age. Gym games and activities may include: basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, dodgeball, whiffle ball, football and more. Preschool games and activities are also available.The staff will provide the necessary equipment; the host will organize and direct the party games. Parties available on select Saturdays and Sundays. Cost is $140 per party at the PAC. There is an additional $50 charge for added spaces.     Soak up the summer sun at Minnesota's largest outdoor water park located in Coon Rapids. Have a blast on the water slides, relax in the lazy river or get wacky in the wave pool. Bring along appropriate swimwear and optional money for concessions. Bring a bag lunch and a beverage, as we will eat when we arrive before heading into the park.   • F.A.S.T. KIDS – Staying Safe While Home Alone

    First Aid and Safety Trained Kids is a 4-hour course for 7 - 10-year-olds. This course helps prepare children for staying safe at and away from home. Lessons cover basic first aid, water safety, vehicle safety, home emergencies, injury prevention, stranger and internet safety. Students will receive a book, handouts and a home first aid kit as part of the class.

YEL’s Teach It, Practice It, Play It® approach teaches fencers new skills each class, practices those skills in kid-friendly fencing games, and then encourages students to use those skills in fencing bouts (matches). All equipment is provided.

    Grandmasters of Chess 1.2

  • Home Alone Safety

    Is your child ready for the independence of being home alone? Parents need to be sure their children have the skills and maturity to handle the responsibility safely. Whether it is for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experience for a mature and well-prepared child. This class for children will address several topics relating to being “Home Alone,” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after school routines, phone calls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders and first aid tips. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Parents are encouraged to review the take home information and discuss it with their child. For ages 9 and older.

    Take me out to the ball game! We’ll be rooting for the home team with a visit to CHS Field to watch the St. Paul Saints take on the Worcester Red Sox! Watching a baseball game is a great time to sit back, relax, and hang out with friends. No outside food is allowed at CHS Field, with the exception of water. Food is available for purchase.     Due to ticket purchase guidelines, we are unable to accept cancellations after June 2nd at 12:00 Noon. Enjoy a summer day full of thrills at Valleyfair Amusement Park! Bring along comfortable shoes, sunscreen, and money for lunch. Bring appropriate swimwear if you plan to use the waterpark. We recommend signing up with a friend or group of friends. Students will be encouraged to use the buddy system as they will be allowed to experience the park without direct supervision. All students will be expected to check in with chaperones at set times and locations throughout the day. It is very important to be on time for midday check in and departure times. Please note that Valleyfair is now cashless, but there are kiosks where cash can be placed onto a debit card to be used throughout the park. Valleyfair does not take credit cards!
