    Adult Basketball Open Gyms

    Adult Basketball Play is competitive, fun and a great work out for all levels of play. Teams will be formed at the gym to play pick-up basketball. This is not a league. New players always welcome. There are 2 ways to pay for open gym participation in basketball. Purchase a monthly PAC membership, this will entitle you to participate in any open gym section of any sport and may apply for healthcare reimbursement. $6 daily/walk in fee or $4 senior citizens fee. (Rate increase September 1, 2021) This page is for information purposes only. To participate in Adult Basketball Open Gym, you may purchase a daily pass or membership at the PAC upon arrival.     Adult Private Tennis Lessons

    Learn the life-long sport of tennis through private lessons with Stillwater’s Head Boys and Girls Varsity Tennis Coach David Kahl. Private lessons will be tailored toward your game and what you need to develop to become a better tennis player. One or more private lessons can be scheduled with Coach Kahl. Upon registration, please email kahld@stillwaterschools.org to schedule the private lesson(s). Each participant must provide their own tennis racket. Tennis balls are provided.

  • Adult Tennis Group Lessons

    Start your day with a cardio workout through tennis drills. Individuals will be grouped by ability level focusing on rules and strategy while developing and improving a variety of tennis skills. This class will be taught in a group format and is available to adult tennis players of all abilities. Each participant must provide their own tennis racket. Tennis balls will be provided. In the event of rain outs, July 19 is scheduled as a rain make-up date.

    Advanced Beginner Pickleball Lessons

    Improve your basic skills and strategy in this series of classes. Students will learn alternate shots that will expand their skills. Doubles game strategy will be emphasized more in this class compared to the Beginner Lessons. The last 30 minutes of the course will be organized play. Participants should bring their own paddle.   • Alcohol Ink Flower Beginner Class

    Although there are many ways of painting with Alcohol Ink (AI), this class will focus on blowing flower petals with an airbrush. After understanding the basics, there will be a demo of how to blow petals. Each student will have practice on a 6"x6" white tile. Once the student feels comfortable, they will blow out a flower using the colors of their choice. Students will finish a flower complete with a center on both white and black plastic paper. A $15 supply fee is due to the instructor the night of class. Examples:
  • Batik Basics

    Batik is a wax-resist dying technique, where wax designs are applied to fabric before dying. Once the wax is removed, the neutral color of the fabric or the color of a prior layer of dye is revealed. Discuss the history of Batik while creating your own wax designs on cotton cloths. After applying the dye you will have the option of taking your project home following class and removing the wax (directions provided) or picking up your finished project at a later date with wax removed.

    Beginner Pickleball Lessons

    Learn how to play pickleball, the fastest growing sport in America. The beginner course will introduce pickleball rules, body positioning, footwork, drills and doubles game strategy. Drills and strategy will focus on serves, returns, drop-shots, and dinks. (What's a dink?) The last 30 minutes of the course will be organized play.     Bird Hike

    Join Konnie Her, naturalist and avid bird watcher, at Maplewood Nature Center for a guided bird watching hike. On the hike, you will discover different birds calling the nature center home and others just passing through on their migration flight. Binoculars will be available for use or bring your own. This is a great opportunity to share quality and educational time with a special youth in your life as those ages eight and above are welcome when accompanied by an adult Please note: trails in the nature center are unpaved. *Please register the adult and note the child's name at checkout.

This self-paced online class cuts through conflicting information and delivers the essential parenting strategies for your child's digital wellbeing. Nobody's time is more precious and valuable than that of a parent! By the end of this course, you will have received over twelve engaging video lessons, three strategy-packed downloadable guides, and had the opportunity to engage in an online community. This course is designed as a self-paced class. This means that you can work through the content on your own schedule and timeline! To help you dive in, you will get access to a new module “Spark” every week for first three weeks. Watch short videos and work through downloads on your own time while getting your questions answered in comments and in our Spark & Stitch classes Facebook group. Then access for three full months so you can revisit the content when you and your kids need it most. Best for parents of kids ages 8-16. Three modules or “Sparks” plus ongoing access.   • Cricut Design Space 101

    This class will go over a basic overview of the Cricut Design Space application. Do you have a Cricut that you want to learn more about? Or are you thinking of buying a Cricut? This course will give you the knowledge of how to create the project within Design Space as well as information on putting together some projects. Whether you are looking to work with paper projects or vinyl projects, this course will give you some tips and tricks along the way to make you successful with your crafting adventures. We'll make two projects from start to finish. A Cricut machine is not needed for this class. A machine will be used by the instructor during class to show how it works. Feel free to bring your computer if you have Cricut Design Space and you want to follow along. A $20 supply fee will be due to the instructor at the beginning of class.
  • Custom Glass Mosaic Window or Candle Holder

    Create a custom, colorful window or candle holder in 2 fun evenings! Using precut glass and some creativity, you will cover a 20"x25" four pane window or a 3"x3" square candle holder. Stencils will be available or you can use your creativity to make a beautiful work of art. The first night is dedicated to working on your project, having fun, and discovering your creative side. The second night is using grout so bring some old towels. After your project is finished, you will learn about glass cutting, mosaic resources, and other types of mosaics. Candle holders are 3/$35 and windows are $65 and is payable to the instructor the first night. Additional candle holders are available for $12 each. Kids ages 8-15 may attend with adult helper!
  • Dance - Beginner Cha-Cha

    Another lively, upbeat Latin favorite is Cha-Cha, which has a unique rhythm and is commonly used when dancing Salsa is too slow. You’ve got more time in the music to fill in with “cha-cha-cha.” You will use Cha-Cha at Ballroom and Latin dance venues, and when you travel south to the Caribbean countries.     Often called “the dance of love,” Rumba fits most 4/4 timing rhythm of music. You can bet that over half of wedding First Dance songs from every decade have a Rumba beat. Dance it slow or fast and it will provide great movement on the dance floor for your next special occasion! Rumba is based off of a Box-Step basic and doesn’t need a large dance floor to perform. This is a beginner class! Dance the night away, with Instructors from Dance and Entertainment Studios of Stillwater, in our 4 week sessions. All ages and levels are welcome in these classes.     Take your dancing to the tropics with you! Salsa is not as hard as it looks. The footwork appears fancy but really it’s just because the music is so fast! Learn basic patterns to get you dancing right away, then learn some fun moves that will show off your new skills! Make sure to come to our studio practice parties, get up and dance at the Latin restaurants, and pack your bags for a Caribbean dancing vacation! This is the beginner class! We will teach you how to dance Waltz as a box-step for small dance floors, and traveling for large dance floors. This is a beginner class! Dance the night away, with Instructors from Dance and Entertainment Studios of Stillwater, in our 4 week sessions. All ages and levels are welcome in these classes.     Dragonflies and Damselflies

    Discover the wonderful world of dragonflies and damselflies as you take a closer look at their various stages of life. Try your hand at catching one with a net as they are plentiful at the nature center. Finish your experience by coloring a dragonfly and damselfly picture to take with you. Fee is for one adult and 1 youth age 6 and above. *Please register the adult and list name and age of partner at checkout.
  • Easy Ethiopian / Eritrean Cooking

    This is an on-line class. Ethiopian/Eritrean food has become a favorite among foodies worldwide. The food is light, healthy and flavorful, ranging from very spicy to very mild. Experience the thrilling discovery of exotic spices paired with daily ingredients such as vegetables, beans, and lentils. For the non-vegetarian, we can use different types of meat sauteed with various kinds of flavored butter and healthy oils. Every step is educational, informative, and a dream-like trip into the food culture of these historic countries. You will be provided an ingredient list and a link prior to class.
  • Golf - Adult Masters Series

    Each day will focus on a different facet of the game. Day one will include, putting theory, short game concepts and application. Day two will focus on percentage short game shots, full wedges and video analysis. Day three will include mid irons, woods, and of course the Driver. Each day will have a format, but will remain fluid to include input from participants. *Players must have 3-5yrs golfing experience.
  • Golf - Basic Golf Skills for Adults

    The basic golf skills program is designed around having fun and learning basic techniques on the golf course. This class focuses on providing a deeper understanding of the short game and golf swing. Beginning golfers, infrequent golfers and former golfers are encouraged to participate. Lessons include putting, chipping, pitching and full swing including set up. All students must provide their own clubs.

    Homemade Egg Rolls and Samosas

    This is an on-line class. Restaurant quality egg rolls and samosas can be made right in your own kitchen. These appetizers are jammed with flavors from around the world and can be a quick way to incorporate leftovers into something new and fun to eat. Make a variety of egg rolls, samosas, and dipping sauces in this class. You will be provided an ingredient list and a link prior to class.
