    Unleash your imagination as you journey through the wide-ranging world of LEGO® building. Students working in pairs will build models and discuss the engineering science behind each. This fun, hands-on class shows students how engineering can be fun and silly yet still educational. Possible models include the never-look-back machine, skittletops, do-nothing machine, coat hanger daredevil, trapdoor cable car parachute machine, rubber band racer, balloon-powered car, and other crazy action contraptions.

    This class is for those who love to create things with their hands. Students will learn how to mold a variety of decorative out of clay (pinch pot, picture frame, etc) as well as use pottery wheels. We’ll also experiment with different colored glazes. Dress in clothes that can get dirty.. Please bring a drink and snack daily.

    Need a break from the summer sun? Come discover the wonders of Crystal Cave. Explore the passage more than 70 feet below ground on a one hour walking tour. Learn about the history, geology, and bats of Wisconsin's longest cave! There will also be options for gem panning and mini-golf. We will eat lunch when we arrive, so please pack a bagged lunch and a drink.The cave can be cold and has a rough terrain, please wear good walking shoes and bring a warm layer.   • Curtain Up! Frozen Jr

    We are excited for you to join us this summer for the musical theatre production of FROZEN JR.! A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen JR. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humor, Frozen JR. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart! Actors entering 2nd grade - 9th grade should register, auditions will be held to determine roles, but all students will receive a part. There is not a student tech team for this performance.
  • Destination Mars- Rocketry Course

    Launch and watch your very own rocket speed 300 feet into the air! Then it is yours to take home! Students will make and take home multiple rockets of varying difficulty throughout this session. We will use these rockets and airplanes to investigate basic aeronautical concepts including; propulsion, thrust, lift, drag and more. We will also hypothesize about travel in outer space, how to get a United States astronaut to Mars and life on Mars. Participants will be asked to contribute two empty liter soda bottles for experiments.

  • Dog Training: Puppy Life Skills

    The whole family is encouraged to participate. This course will focus on teaching life skills and concepts like positive introductions to novel things and experiences, structured interaction play, and for your pup to love being handled. We will also work on basic skills like name recognition, impulse control games, and calming strategies. For puppies under 5 months old.

    Doubles Pickleball Strategy Clinic

    Good pickleball teams are active shot oriented rather than reactive to a shot. They know where to hit the ball, the type of ball shot to hit, where to hit their serve, where to place their return, where to stand on the court, when to hit a drop or hit the drive on the third shot, and when to attack. They learn how to move as a team. The X doctrine will be taught as an important strategy. It is the simple things that good teams do to win their games. Participants can bring thier own paddle or borrow one from the PAC. One registration is needed per couple. Prerequisites: Understands the rules of pickleball Gets in at least half of all serve attempts Gets at least half of return of serves deep and to middle of opponent's court

    Driver Education

    Stillwater Community Education has a partnership with Safeway Driving School to offer a convenient teen driver education program in our schools. All instructors are licensed through the Minnesota Dept of Public Safety. The program is divided into two phases: Classroom Phase: This phase includes the required 30 hours of classroom instruction that prepares the student to take the Minnesota permit test and to take on the responsibility of driving. After-school classes are offered at Stillwater Area High School. Make-up lessons can be completed in any other Stillwater Community Education class or Safeway classroom session. Students can take class at age 14½ but cannot take their permit test until age 15. Behind-the-Wheel Phase: After students pass the permit test, they are required to complete six hours of driving lessons. The lessons are provided in three, two-hour lessons. Lessons can be scheduled online at www.safewaydrivingschool.com Parent Involvement: It is critical that parents plan to practice regularly with their newly permitted drivers. Safeway offers detailed information on its web site to assist parents with understanding MN laws and requirements for student drivers. There is also a bi-monthly Parent Class offered at Safeway’s Stillwater classroom. Safeway strongly encourages all parents to review its Parent Information section at www.safewaydrivingschool.com. Fee: $424 We have two options for payment. You can pay in full up front (includes classroom instruction, materials and behind-the-wheel training). Or, you can pay $244 to secure your spot in the classroom portion. Later, $180 is due to Safeway before your student does their behind-the-wheel lessons. The fee for the program includes classroom instruction, materials and behind-the-wheel training. Permit and road exam fees are not included. Fee assistance may be available for those who qualify for Education Benefits (free/reduced lunch) through the local non-profit organization, Youth Advantage.     Driver Education Zoom Course

Materials can be printed out at home or picked up from the Central Services Building located 1875 Greeley St in Stillwater. Safeway will be sending out an email before class begins that gives detailed information about how to login to the student's Safeway account to verify and complete contact information and to review and acknowledge our Service Agreement.     Explore the awesome world of Dungeons & Dragons! Learn about the game, create your own character, and embark on a short one-shot adventure. Participate in D&D-related STEAM activities, like creating your own D&D-inspired video game. Bring a USB drive on the last day. Students should have basic reading skills (ie: reading and identifying sight words).

  • Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE)

    First, are you on the Stillwater School district database (Census)? If not, it is very important to us that we maintain accurate and up-to-date census files on all households located within our district boundaries. This includes households with newborns and preschool age children, those who attend our schools and those that have children being home schooled or attending a non-public school. The information you provide will be used to make enrollment projections, program planning, determine staffing and classroom space needs and more. Please fill out this form HERE Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is a unique program that offers parents the opportunity to go to school and learn along with their child! Parents are their children's first and most important teachers. It has been proven that children whose parents are involved in their early education are more successful in school. ECFE classes provide support, information and education for parents and their children, ages birth to 5. Parents and children attend weekly classes together. Most ECFE classes provide time for parent/child interaction as well as a separation time when parents enjoy a group discussion regarding child development and parenting issues. During this time, children continue activities in the classroom with their early childhood teachers. Participant fees for most classes are based on a sliding fee scale. Classes are charged on a sliding fee scale based on income. No Minnesota family is excluded for inability to pay. Wisconsin fees reflect a non-resident rate. Your child's age on Sept. 1st, 2024 is the age guideline for classes.
  • Early Entrance Application Fee

    Children are eligible to be assessed for early entrance of Kindergarten if their birth date falls between September 2 and October 31. You have already completed the questionnaire and sent a copy of your child's birth certificate, now all you have left is the payment of $125 through Eleyo. Deadline for applications is May 1. If you decide not to have your child assessed, you may request a refund of $100 ($25 non refundable).   • Emergency Care- COVID-19

    First responder/medical/law enforcement professionals are needed now more than ever. Stillwater Area Public Schools will support this effort by providing child care for health care workers and first responders. Please note, in an effort to maintain smaller circles of contact -- if you have the option turn to those alternatives. This care is solely to be used while performing essential work. Keeping emergency childcare sites small and spread out will help us keep them as safe as possible for those children whose families cannot find another child care alternative. The list of employees eligible for child care can be found at this LINK. At this time, we will be approving essential staff at the Tier One level. After we see where numbers are at, we will open up to Tier 2 starting April 1 on a first come, first serve basis as space is available. Before your childcare contract is accepted, you will be asked to verify your employment. If you have already sent us a letter and your employment has been confirmed, we will accept your registration right away. Breakfast and lunch are provided Transportation is provided if you are attending only the school hours of 8:40 and 3:15.
