Intermediate Pickleball Lessons

Courses Adult / Athletics -
Winter 2026

Ready to dominate the kitchen? In this two-hour intermediate session, we’ll focus on purposeful dinking, volley techniques, and kitchen strategies, including speed-ups, lobs, and transitions. Players will also work on drives, drop shots, overhead smashes, and retrievals through fun games like 7-11 and Survivor. We’ll wrap up with game play to practice your new skills. These lessons are for players who already know the basics and want to improve their overall game.

Kris Schwartz

I love Pickleball; for the fun, the new friends, the active lifestyle, and the competition. Spending most of childhood on the tennis courts in Stillwater, I played competitive tennis from the age of 10 through college. Pickleball allows me to compete again; and I have the added bonus of having my sister for a doubles partner.

I started playing Pickleball 5 years ago, and now spend as much time as I can on the court. There is nothing like seeing the joy on a new player’s face when they make contact with the ball for the first time. I use a student centered approach in my teaching. I realize that people play Pickleball for many different reasons. You may be a beginner checking out the sport, newly retired looking for a new hobby, or someone working to bring your game to the next level. The sport is approachable and there is something in it for everyone.
