  • Adult Pottery - Hand Building & Wheel Instruction with Stoneware Clay

    In this three session class, participants will be introduced to basic techniques of hand building, throwing on a potter’s wheel, and glazing. Using stoneware clay and earth tone glazes, participants will create pieces of art using an electric wheel, slab roller and extruder. The first two sessions are devoted to creating and the last session will focus on glazing. You will be notified when you can pick up your finished pieces at the Central Services Building. Both new and returning students are welcome. Participants are encouraged to bring an apron or towel. A $35 supply fee is due to the instructor at the beginning of class.
  • Alcohol Ink Glitter Ornaments

    Do you want to make gorgeous one-of-a-kind ornaments for your holiday tree or as an incredible gift? Join this class, to make 4 beautiful Alcohol Ink (AI) glass Glitter Ornaments. After prepping the ornaments, the instructor will discuss and demo various processes of working with AI. Then you will pick colors of your choice to create unique ornaments for yourself or as a gift. Each ornament can reflect the same color scheme or each ornament can be a different color scheme. Totally your choice! The ornaments are painted on the inside so the colors will last forever. A $20 supply fee is due to the instructor at the beginning of class.
  • Cotton Creations

    Are you familiar with using your sewing machine but looking for a straightforward project to enhance your confidence and skills? You can choose from a variety of cotton fabrics and then create one or two simple projects, such as a bowl or cup cozy, an oven mitt, a placemat, a hair bow, or a pet bandana. Please bring the following supplies: Sewing machine, White, all-purpose thread, Fabric scissors or rotary cutter and mat, Ruler, Seam ripper and Pins. There is a $10 supply fee to be paid to the instructor at the beginning of the first class for fabric.

    Mosaic sounds like a fancy, difficult art form however, you will learn how it can be fun and easy while you mosaic a table lamp or suncatcher. View the idea book, browse stencils and dozens of colors of precut glass. Night one will involve homework. There will be time to make multiple suncatchers.   • Making a T-shirt/ Jersey Quilt

    Are you looking forward to celebrating a graduation or other special event? Make it memorable by giving an absolutely treasured t-shirt quilt, made by you. Learn the basics of making a t-shirt quilt - from stabilizing the t-shirts, to cutting them apart and sewing the blocks into a 72”x90” quilt top. Leave class with a unique, individualized quilt for yourself or a loved one. Basic sewing skills required. Please bring the following supplies: Session 1: 35-40 t-shirts, washed Rotary cutter and mat (preferred) or fabric scissors, Pins or fabric weights, Measure stick (preferred) or ruler. Session 2: Sewing Machine, Thread, Pins and Scissors. Session 3: Supplies from Session 2, Fabric for back of quilt (type and amount will be discussed in class) and Batting (type and amount will be discussed in class). A $10 supply fee will be due to the instructor at the beginning of the first class.

    What's a sewing machine bobbin

    Do you have a sewing machine but don’t have a clue how to use it? Join us for this fun, informative class where you’ll come away with an understanding of machine set-up and operation as well as tips to get you started on your sewing journey. We’ll test out essential sewing accessories, learn about a variety of woven and knit fabrics, and practice a variety of stitches. Class ends with a field trip where we’ll learn how to navigate a fabric store. A $5 supply fee will be due to the instructor at the beginning of class. Other supplies to bring include: Sewing Machine (manual, if you have it), thread, fabric scissors and pins.

    Join us, bring a friend, and paint something fun. Create personalized gifts, decorative pieces for events or parties, or even to add a unique touch to your own glassware collection. Includes two wine glasses and all the art supplies. Additional wine glasses can be purchased from the instructor.
