  • Adult Softball Leagues

    Softball Leagues are available to post-high school adults. Spring/Summer online registration must be completed by Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Past participating teams will receive 2024 information via email. New teams interested in joining a league can visit us at www.stillwaterschools.org/ce to download the online registration form/roster. The season begins in early May and ends in August. 12 regular season games plus playoffs Games for all leagues are played at Jaycee Ball Fields and Lily Lake Park in Stillwater. Complete game schedule will be distributed at the Manager's meeting a week before the first games.   • Adult Tennis Group Lessons

    Start your day with a cardio workout through tennis drills. Individuals will be grouped by ability level focusing on rules and strategy while developing and improving a variety of tennis skills. This class will be taught in a group format and is available to adult tennis players of all abilities. Each participant must provide their own tennis racket. Tennis balls will be provided. In the event of rain outs, July 19 is scheduled as a rain make-up date.

    Advanced Beginner Pickleball Lessons

    Improve your basic skills and strategy in this series of classes. Students will learn alternate shots that will expand their skills. Doubles game strategy will be emphasized more in this class compared to the Beginner Lessons. The last 30 minutes of the course will be organized play. Participants can bring their own paddle or borrow one from the PAC. Prerequisites: Understands the rules of pickleball Gets in at least half of all serve attempts Gets at least half of return of serves deep and to middle of opponent's court

    Beginner Pickleball Lessons

    Learn how to play pickleball, the fastest growing sport in America. The beginner course will introduce pickleball rules, body positioning, footwork, drills and doubles game strategy. Drills and strategy will focus on serves, returns, drop-shots, and dinks. The last 30 minutes of the course will be organized play. Participants can bring their own paddle or borrow one from the PAC. Prerequisites: None

    Doubles Pickleball Strategy Clinic

    Good pickleball teams are active shot oriented rather than reactive to a shot. They know where to hit the ball, the type of ball shot to hit, where to hit their serve, where to place their return, where to stand on the court, when to hit a drop or hit the drive on the third shot, and when to attack. They learn how to move as a team. The X doctrine will be taught as an important strategy. It is the simple things that good teams do to win their games. Participants can bring thier own paddle or borrow one from the PAC. One registration is needed per couple.   • Golf - Basic Golf Skills for Adults

    Basic Golf Skills for Adults The basic golf skills program is designed around having fun and learning basic techniques on the golf course. This class focuses on providing a deeper understanding of the short game and golf swing. Beginning golfers, infrequent golfers and former golfers are encouraged to participate.     Short Game Skills Learn how to master your short game! This class will focus on technique, skills and strategy to master your short game. Practice balls are included.
  • Golf - Spring Tune Up Special

    Spring Tune Up Special Knock off the rust or come tune up the game after taking a few years off from the game. This is a group format with an emphasis on fun and learning. The hour-long clinic will include 30 min of putting, chip shot and short pitching. The second 30 minutes will include a range session, full wedge shots, long irons and driver work. Short and sweat hour long session will give the student "tools for the toolbox". Tips for everyone to continue their practice while on your own time.

    Intermediate Pickleball Lessons

    Improve your pickleball technique, shots and game strategy. The intermediate lessons will focus on spin serves, drop shots, footwork, dinks, fast action at the net, and defensive techniques, with an emphasis on winning doubles strategy. The last 30 minutes of the course will be organized play. Participants can bring thier own paddle or borrow one from the PAC. Prerequisites: Understands the rules of pickleball Gets in at least 75% of all serve attempts Gets at least 75% of return of serves (ROS) deep and to the middle of opponent's court and gets forward to capture the kitchen line on most of their ROS's. Occasionally performs successful third shot drop shots. (Success is defined as a third shot drop shot that is not returned or can only be dinked back) Can perform at least 5 dinks in a row without placing the dinks in the net, out of the court, or popping them up.
  • Lumberjack Days Pickleball Tournament

    Stillwater Area Public Schools Community Education Department is hosting the Lumberjack Days Pickleball Tournament Saturday, July 20th and Sunday, July 21st, 2024 at Stillwater Area High School in the Pony Activity Center which features 10 indoor pickleball courts. Location: NEW THIS YEAR - OUTDOOR TOURNAMENT! We will be playing at the 8 courts at Northland Park in Stillwater. Backup - Stillwater Area High School Pony Activity Center - 10 indoor courts, hardwood floors. 5701 Stillwater Boulevard North, Stillwater, MN 55082. Enter Door 11W by the Pony Stadium entryway. Dates: Saturday, July 20th and Sunday, July 21st, 2024 Cost: $35 per player for the first event, $5 for each additional event, tournament t-shirt included in fee. Tournament Format: The tournament format will consist of a minimum of 3 pool play games, followed by single elimination tournament play based on pool ranking. All games are officiated by the individuals playing and must make their own calls. This is an unsanctioned tournament. Ball: Franklin X-40 - (if moved indoors we will use the Onix Fuse indoor balls) Men’s and Women’s will play Saturday, July 20th. Depending on the number of teams registered for men’s and women’s play will dictate the start times of each tournament. The goal is to maximize court time for pool play for each level and gender will be dictated based on registrations. Schedules will be posted by July 17th. Mixed Doubles will play Sunday, July 21st. Depending on the number of teams registered for mixed play will dictate the start times of each tournament. The goal is to maximize court time for pool play for each level and will be dictated based on registrations Competition in mixed, men’s and women’s will be offered at 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 divisions, As well as 50+ divisions in mixed. Teams are self-ranked according to USAPA criteria. Tournament Director has the right to reclassify and combine divisions if necessary due to number of teams. Registration: Registration opens March 4th, 2024, and will close July 12, 2024 @10 AM or until full. Each player needs to have their own separate online registration and payment. The first registration should be $35. You can register for the second event by going into the new event and selecting the $5 registration fee. There is a $5 processing fee if cancelled before July 12th, 2024. There is no refund after July 12th, 2024 as t-shirts and brackets will be created and modifications to the brackets must be made.     Private Pickleball Lessons

    Do you want to improve your pickleball game? Individual or small group private lessons will help your skills, strategy and rating level. During the one-hour session, participants will be coached through skill repetition and drills specific to improve your pickleball game. Prior to registering for small group training, please make sure you have discussed specific training dates and times that would work best for your group. Once all individual(s) have registered for the private lessons, you will be contacted by the instructor to choose some dates and times for the lessons.
