  • Advantage Education - ACT Preparatory Course

    Advantage Educational Programs offers its ACT preparatory courses to juniors and seniors at Stillwater Area High School. Courses are designed for students who wish to improve their test-taking skills and improve their overall scores on the ACT (American College Test).Focal points of this twelve-hour class include diagnostic testing, vocabulary development, intensive mathematical review, reading comprehension improvement, science reasoning, concentration improvement, overcoming test anxiety and time management.Tuition is $140 with all class materials included. Students who participate in an Advantage course may repeat the course as often as they wish in any of our winter/spring, summer or fall classes – FREE OF CHARGE (call to register).For questions/information, contact Advantage at 612-222-5108
  • STEAM Career Day

    For all interested 9- 12 grade students, the STEAM Career Day will introduce students to career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Learn about a variety of careers from people who work in STEAM fields every day.  This event takes place during the school day and will be held at Century College East Campus. Registered students will be excused from classes and buses will leave from Stillwater Area High School.The $15 fee helps to cover the cost of lunch and transportation to and from Century College. Please contact Community Education (651-351-8300) for a reduced fee if you quality for free or reduced lunch.Keynote address by Matt Simcik, Associate Professor in the Division of Environmental Health Sciences at the University of Minnesota. Breakout presenters will include experts from the following fields: Medical Engineering Mechanical/Electrical Manufacturing and processing GIS technology Invention/creativity Information technology CAD design Video game design and more!   • Zaps-Saturday ACT Seminar

    Many colleges require an ACT test score as one of their criteria for admission. This seminar gives students a chance to become more familiar with the ACT and work on improving their score. This test preparation course offered by Doorway to College includes:-five hours of test preparation seminar-a comprehensive study guide-6 practice tests per subject covered on the ACT (24 total practice tests)The optional essay portion of the test will also be covered. Students should bring two pencils and a calculator to the seminar. There will be a 45 minute lunch break in which students are responsible for their own lunches.
